The ARC Is Upon Us
Fall, Sacred Apple is Now Available for Advance Review
Good afternoon (or morning, or evening), everyone!
The ARC for FALL, SACRED APPLE officially begins today 🎉 I am so honoured to share this project with those who signed up for an ARC copy and am very excited to hear everyone’s thoughts. ARC Team applications will remain open until 06 October if you’re interested!
I honestly haven’t done much else in the last few weeks than get ready for this and starting print layout. Here’s a sneak peek (black and white is for paperback, colour is for a special edition thing I have planned 👀):
I also now have a Media Kit section on my website with graphic templates you can use to share reviews on socials, your blog, or other sites! Please just reach out if you want to use one but need it resized, half-starred, or with other alterations—I’m happy to accomodate!
Of those I made, I think these are my favourites:
I’ve also been hard at work setting up the Extended Edition on Campfire, which will launch alongside the regular eBook and print versions on 22 October. So far, I have 9 Character elements, two locations, a map, calendar, three Religion/Philosophy elements, and several Encyclopedia elements for you to explore!
So, now that FSA is nearing its end, what next? Well, once all is finally said and done, I’ll be doing rewrites and edits for my next book, MARROW, and do this whole process over again! 🎊 if you’ve ever wondered what Memoirs of a Geisha set in Fantasy Byzantium with Red Sparrow vibes would be like, stay tuned for more.
And, as per usual, before I sign off for the night, here are some books by other authors to check out:
Memories of Tomorrow | Book I of the Tales of Aerym Series
By Noah Isaacs | ARCs Available!
Memories and prophecies guide them on their path to salvation, but the past lies, and the future speaks only in tragedies. Is it truly a blessing to know what's coming even if you're powerless to stop it?
This one is an ARC too, so if you’re interested, sign up here!
Hallowed
By Y. R. Liu | Released 28 July 2023
Avenel was once a fabled assassin known as the Blade of Elyria. Ever tight-lipped about her past, she retired from a life of death to wander the world alone. Deena is a sheltered teenage girl unaware of her extraordinary heritage. Raised alone by her mother, she has never been far from home.
Their paths cross in Deena’s secluded village, when tragedy obliterates Deena’s home and leaves her orphaned. The two begin a journey across the continent, bound together by Avenel’s promise to keep Deena safe. They encounter allies, both new and old: a biological father, a bastard prince and his friends, estranged family, and a physician who claims to be a member of a long-dead race. Each has regrets and painful memories of their own, memories that Deena soon discovers she can relive through dreams.
When a prophesied sign of the end of the world appears, their journey becomes about more than just the fate of a single girl, and the secrets between them may be enough to save the world — or end it.
Liu is one of my favourite writers, so definitely give her a read! You can find HALLOWED and associated Extras & Bonus Content on Campfire.
Riyati Rebirth
By Kalani Shimizu | Released 01 August 2024
Kylie Rae thought she was an average honors high school student but discovered during a life-threatening incident that she’s the reincarnation of an ancient magic kingdom’s crown princess. Now people she’s never met want her dead, and she must learn how to survive in this new world while maintaining the façade that nothing’s changed. Forget making A’s, how will Kylie survive to the end of the year when she’s constantly looking over her shoulder?
Riyati Rebirth is the first book of a contemporary new adult dark fantasy series that seeks to explore themes of identity, legacy, the greater good, and finding your own path in life; it includes multiple first person perspectives and queer representation, which will expand even further as the series continues!
I wanted to draw attention to this one again primarily because it hit #2 in Dark Fiction on Campfire! Go Kalani! You can also read and review with this Universal Book Link.
As always, thanks for reading! I’ll be chiming in your inbox again October 15th as scheduled. Happy reading, everyone!
